SHANGHAI, Oct. 3 -- A giant panda cub was born in Shanghai on Sept. 13, according to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park.
The giant panda cub was the first cub born this year at the Shanghai Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas.
The cub weighed 198 grams two days after birth.
As an experienced mother, Si Xue took good care of her cub. Meanwhile, breeders took turns on duty to ensure the health of the cub.
In recent years, with the guidance and support of researchers from the conservation and research center, the park has made great achievements in breeding pandas in low altitude areas, with giant panda cubs born here in four consecutive years.
