On the evening of Sept. 20, 76 landmark buildings in 46 cities of 25 Chinese provinces are expected to light up with blessings for China, presenting a light show of unprecedented size with the theme “express your love for the motherland.”

People’s Daily Online designed the light show as a gift for the fast approaching 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The event will also serve as a platform for various cities to showcase their achievements in city construction, and an opportunity for Chinese people across the country to voice their love for their hometowns and country.

During the event, blessings written by Chinese netizens will be sent to space via the Ladybird-1 satellite.

On the evening of Sept. 16, 25 landmark buildings in 9 Chinese cities located along the Yellow River were lit up to display words such as “light up the beautiful red color and pool the love for China via the Internet” and “express your love for the motherland.”

Moreover, on the evening of Sept. 13, the Mid-Autumn Festival, People’s Daily Online organized spectacular light shows under the theme “express your love for the motherland” in 10 provinces, pooling the charm of 52 landmark buildings to display good wishes and love for China.
