BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Around 15 top scientific and technological projects in the Internet sector will be unveiled at the sixth World Internet Conference (WIC), which will be held in October in the river town of Wuzhen, eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
The projects, selected by a group of nearly 40 experts from around the world, will cover artificial intelligence, 5G, big data, cloud computing, digital manufacturing, industrial Internet and other Internet-related fields, said Liu Liehong, an official with the Cyberspace Administration of China, at a press conference Wednesday.
The solicitation of such projects was launched in June, attracting foreign enterprises, central enterprises, well-known domestic universities and Internet companies, said Liu, adding that a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises and innovation teams also participated.
A global Internet competition themed "Straight to Wuzhen" will be held during the WIC for the first time, Liu said.
The competition, focusing on Internet entrepreneurship and innovation, aims to boost Internet cooperation and innovation around the world and energize Internet entrepreneurship, Liu said.
