BEIJING, Sept. 15 -- More Chinese traveled by air during the just-concluded summer vacation period, official data showed.
A total of 121 million passenger trips were handled by China's civil aviation sector in July and August, up 9.2 percent year on year, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Cargo turnover rose 3.6 percent year on year to about 630,000 tonnes last month.
China is now the world's second-largest civil aviation market. It is expected to become the world's largest by the mid-2020s, according to forecasts by the International Air Transport Association.
