BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- German auto brand BMW is recalling 209 vehicles in the Chinese market due to defective assembly, according to China's market regulator.
Starting June 20, BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd. recalled a part of imported X7 cars produced between Nov. 21, 2018 and March 8, 2019, according to a statement by the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Due to problematic assembly, air bags on these vehicles may malfunction, posing safety hazards to drivers, the statement said.
The company promised to inspect and replace, if necessary, all defective parts free of charge.
