China has maintained a stable economic performance after the Trump administration cracked down on Chinese enterprises to escalate trade frictions between China and the US.

Though extreme crackdown measures implemented by the Trump administration indeed had some impact on the Chinese economy, they were not able to impede China's economic development.

In the first quarter of this year, China kept its economic performance within a proper range with an increased GDP growth rate of 6.4 percent, remaining unchanged from the fourth quarter of last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The ability to resist external pressure is critical for any country in their own progress. For China, the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with comrade Xi Jinping at the core has gathered strength and wisdom and built consensus in Chinese society.

A solid material foundation has also provided confidence for China to stand any test. Over the past years, China has changed the development model to promote high-quality economic development. The country has also witnessed social progress with people's livelihood being improved and poverty alleviation achieving remarkable progress.

At the same time, China has been consulting other countries guided by the principle of openness and cooperation, compared with the US, a country which upholds "America first".

In the past, China had been running behind other countries in the field of scientific innovation. However, the country has now quickened its pace to catch up and even become a front runner with numerous scientific and technological achievements, especially in 5G.

China will continue to focus on its own progress. Any external pressure will not have a significant impact on Chinese society.

History has proven that nothing can stop the Chinese from achieving national rejuvenation, and the US should know that a stable China will answer any test.
