The Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, or the Beijing Expo 2019, will introduce a remote emergency medical aid system via 5G network, Science and Technology Daily reported on April 23.
On April 19, staff received training on how to wear the mixed reality devices and carry out first aid via handheld devices on a 5G or 4G network.
The Expo has built a medical center in the park, including hospitals in the Yanqing district where the expo pavilions are located and surrounding hospitals in the medical system.
With 5G technology, doctors can perform first aid, provide medical consultations and even operate from a distance.
The Expo will open on April 29, and last 162 days, with more than 16 million estimated visitors.
All the hospitals in the medical system have gained access to the 5G network provided by China Unicom.
