On October 12, the maintenance of the Xiangyang ancient city wall was completed.

In March, with the approval of the national and provincial departments of cultural relics, Xiangyang started the overhaul of its ancient city walls. The total investment of the project is nearly RMB30 million, and the related maintenance scheme is designed by the Architectural Design Institute of Tsinghua University. The main purpose is to disassemble and repair some dangerous parts according to the damage investigation and record. The repair is carried out with the original technology and materials, in order to restore the original appearance of the healthy and safe city wall in history.
