(The children are learning self defense)
The Beijing Federation of Labor Unions started 81 childcare classes on July 18. Children aged six to twelve can enroll in the seven-week-long courses, according to Beijing People’s Broadcasting Station.
Zhu Yinpei, a student's parent said she feels lucky to have this class, as both her and her husband has to work and have little time to care for their daughter who is on summer holiday.
“Eleven classes and two social practices are provided, including Chinese culture, English language, and Chinese paper cutting,” said Zhang Xiuping, head of Women’s Department.
Children can learn self defense and Kong Fu in addition to culture. A teacher said the training is simplified for the children.
Fifty-four labor unions of enterprises and districts can provide the childcare classes.
“We provide the education and funding to the labor unions in exchange for classroom space,” Zhang added.
