Thirteen wild Asian elephants recently made their way to villagers’ croplands on several occasions in search of food in Ning’er County, southwestern China’s Yunnan province, China News Service reported on July 19, citing the local forest public security bureau.
A villager called the forest public security bureau when he discovered the elephants eating maize on his farm. And the local police took turns to monitor the elephants to prevent any conflict with villagers.
Fortunately, no villagers were injured during the incursions.
