On December 8, the Information Office of the Xiangyang Municipal People's Government announced the results of the inclusion of village clinics in the three-year action plan for people's livelihood improvement by the municipal government. A total of 1,481 standard village clinics were established in three years.
1,495 standard village clinics were scheduled to be established, including 602 in 2016, 487 in 2015 and 406 in 2016. 1,481 were established actually, including 603 in 2014, 503 in 2015 and 227 as of December 5, 2016 (148 are under construction).
With an area of 80 to 120 square meters, these standard village clinics were divided into five rooms (diagnosis room, therapy room, observation room, health classroom and pharmacy), staffed with rural doctors accounting for one thousandth of villagers and equipped with 29 common devices. All village clinics in the city will be up to the standards of "five uniformities" (uniform design, uniform layout, uniform appearance, uniform signs and uniform devices).
