Thin blue mushroom
The Chinese Internet buzzword “thin blue mushroom” was registered on Oct. 13 as a company’s brand in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, with registered capital of 500,000 RMB.
When spoken in the regional dialect, the Chinese for “sad and feeling like you want to cry” (nan shou xiang ku) sounds similar to “thin blue mushroom” (lan shou xiang gu). The phrase was popularized thanks to a video in which a young man in Guangxi expressed his disappointment in love affairs. After the video was released several days ago, the phrase soon becomes popular among netizens.
According to the new company's registration information, the business scope of Thin Blue Mushroom covers a wide range of domains, including equipment manufacturing, engineering and trade.

Before this, other buzzwords also became registered brand names in China. After the women’s backstroke semifinal in the Rio Olympic Games, Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui’s exaggerate facial expressions and attribution of her success to “prehistoric powers” gained huge acclaim from netizens. Just two days later, "Prehistoric Power" was registered.
Additionally, Wang Jianlin, the richest man in China and chairman of Wanda Group, rececently discussed his "small" goal of earning 100,000,000 RMB, attracting many reactions across social media.
