Ancient Tea Mountain in Bangwai Village, Lancang Lahu Autonomous County in Pu’er City has a transitional king of tea tree that is more than 1,700 years old. It is 11.8 meters in height, with an 8.2m × 9m range of tree crown. The diameter of its trunk at the bottom is 1.14 meters. Its crown is tall and straight, with an exuberance of foliage. It has been picked to be used for food up till now.
Bangwai Village has 780 households. Its tea garden covers more than 3,000 acres. Ancient tea trees with the diameter of whose tree trunks is more than 10cm cover an area of about 700 acres.
