Shi Xiaoming is one of the artists in the block printing woodcut base in Nakeli Village, Pu’er City, who is expert in creating a fairyland.
Originating from the region of Pu’er during the 1980s, the block printing woodcut is a new technique for printmaking. All color plates of a picture is concentrated on one plate, and the mode of creation is adopted, with which a picture is carved while being printed, and diminished plate by plate. The process of printmaking is a process that a print is destroyed naturally without reversal. It is usually called out-of-print mimeographed chromatographic woodblock print that is different from traditional plate-distributed chromatography.
