Xi’An Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone actively carries out and implements the National Shanty Town Renovation 2013-2017 Plan. During the past three years, there have been 19 projects that have been approved for renovation (that is, shanty town renovation of collective land), with a total demolition area of 5.99 million sq. m., and a total of 3.32 million sq. m in construction area, placing 29,000 peasants. Among the development zones and administrative districts in the city of Xi’An, it is the region that has the most approved projects for shanty town renovation, the largest demolition scale and the best construction quality and is the quickest for peasants to become rich, with the closest link between shanty town renovation and industry development.
