Dereliction of duty and violation of laws involved in the Tianjin blast must be thoroughly investigated, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said during the conference in Tianjin on August 16 to arrange rescue efforts in Tianjin Blasts.

All the results of investigation must be made public, Li said. This is to account for relatives of victims, to account for Tianjin citizens, to account for the whole nation, and to account for history, Li said.

Li Keqiang arrived at the site of Tianjin blasts on Sunday afternoon. He has visited fire fighters, rescuers and those injured in the calamity. He also directed further rescue operations and treatment of the injured, as well as handling of the aftermath and production safety.

Li stressed on transparency while inspecting Tianjin Blast site. He asked local authorities to offer data regarding air, water and soil quality timely to avoid rumors.

He said that the guarantee of safety must be backed up by solid data. He orders environmental workers to closely monitor air and water quality all the time after Tianjin Blasts, and said all results should be timely made public.

Bowing to the photos of the deceased firefighters, Premier Li on Sunday paid respects to those young men who lost their lives in two massive warehouse blasts in north China's port city of Tianjin that have killed 112.

"They are all heroes and deserve the respect of the whole society," said Li, while visiting a brigade of Tianjin fire department.

At least 21 firefighters have been killed after two huge explosions tore through a warehouse in Tianjin's Binhai New Area late Wednesday night, and 85 other firefighters remain unaccounted for.

Li said all the dead -- whether official firefighters or contract counterparts -- will enjoy the same posthumous honor and their families will be given the same compensation.
