In this May, the 5-month old daughter of a post-90 couple in Yao Autonomous County in Gongcheng, Guangxi was diagnosed as congenital biliary atresia, who would not survive without immediate liver transplantation. The father decided to take hepatectomy to save his daughter. However, he was found to have biliary malformation during the surgery and failed to transplant the liver. Then, the mother who just took cesarean half a year ago decided to take the surgery again for her daughter.
Little Jiajia was suspected to have liver problems at her birth in December, 2014. In early April of 2015, she was diagnosed as congenital biliary atresia, a low-probability disease of newborn. If the diseased baby does not take liver-transplantation surgery, he or she will generally survive only one year. After diagnosed that she needs liver transplantation, father Li Zongtao decided to donate part of his liver to the daughter. Unexpectedly, during the surgery, he was found to have biliary malformation and unable to transplant the liver.

On July. 28, mother Lu Songqing took the surgery again for saving her daughter. The liver-transplantation surgery finally succeeded with 210g liver from the mother transplanting into daughter’s body.
At present, Li Zongtao rents a house near the hospital in Shanghai with the help of kind people, to facilitate body check of his daughter after leaving the hospital. Though his own wound has not been recovered completely, he is exceptionally motivated by his daughter’s recovery.
