KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 -- Han Qide, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met here Monday with Malaysian Senate President Abu Zahar Ujang to discuss on ways to further promote bilateral relationship between the two countries.

During the meeting, Han spoke highly of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia, saying that the two countries should take opportunity of the "Belt and Road" initiative to further enhance their bilateral ties.

Han said that he hoped Malaysia could help push forward the relations between China and the ASEAN to a new altitude during its chairmanship of ASEAN this year.

On his part, Abu Zahar said that in his opinion, China-Malaysia relationship is at its best status in history, and he hoped bilateral ties could further develop on the correct and moderate track.

The Chinese delegation led by Han also held discussions with the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation and the Institute of Strategic and International Studies.
