Professional visitors stopped regularly by the C919 booth at the 51st Paris Air Show.

In the first days of the show, Ping An international Financial Leasing Corporation Limited signed a letter of intent with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) to buy 57 C919s, and Puren Germany Corporation Limited signed a letter of intent with Comac for seven ARJ21—700s. The first COMAC C919 is expected to roll off the assembly lines this year. Moreover, for the first test of the C919 plane, the basic assembly has been completed with airborne systems being installed and various tests such as wind tunnel testing under way.

According to the chief operating officer of Airbus, in the next 20 years, new aircraft companies will rival Airbus and Boeing and break up the monopolies that have been created by Airbus and Boeing. "You need determination and massive capital investment to implement a long-term plan to manufacture planes. It took Airbus 30 years to become the world's leading aircraft manufacturer. China has a long-term plan, heavy funding, and a wish to build its own aircraft industry.
