BEIJING, June 19 -- Rainstorms in south China since Tuesday had left 18 people dead and four missing as of 9 a.m. on Friday, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
The storms have brought floods and landslides to the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Chongqing municipality.
One person in Anhui was killed by a lightning strike, three in Chongqing drowned and two buried by mudslides, while two in Guizhou were killed in building collapses.
In Hubei, four were killed in building collapses, four by rockslides, one by a fallen tree and one drowned.
