AVIC sees breakthrough on aircraft export

As a leader in China's aviation industry, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) attracted enormous attention at the ongoing 51st International Paris Air and Space Show.

In recent years, the JF-17 Thunder or FC-1 Xiaolong (Fierce Dragon), Karakorum-8 (K-8) trainer aircraft, Z-9 helicopters have been exported to many countries. Contracts on exporting 100 JF-17 Thunders and contracts on the sales of 40 Z-9 copters to Asian, African and South American countries have also been inked. In addition, K-8 trainer aircraft have been sold in these countries.

Wing Loong UAV has initially entered into the emerging market.

The AVIC said it has signed deals for selling over 200 Xinzhou series planes; 100 planes have been delivered to 28 users in 18 countries.

Meanwhile, Y-12 series planes have been exported to nearly 30 countries and 78 planes have been delivered. In particular, it signed a contract with Virgin America in 2014 on the sales of 20 Y12 planes, which is the first time that China had sold its independently developed aircraft to the US.
