BEIJING, May 9 -- China's first international ultra-marathon champion Chen Penbin arrived at his hometown Taizhou in Zhejiang province on Friday, 37 days and as many marathons since he started his 100-marathons-in-100-days campaign.
The 37-year-old started his journey from Guangzhou, Guangdong province in South China, on April 2, and planned to go all the way through Fujian province, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei, Tianjin until he arrives at the final stop of Beijing on July 10.
"I arrived at Taizhou today," said Chen in his diary. "It has been 37 days and I have run a long way, but my heart has never been far away from my home."
Chen ran 100km in South Pole in 2014, becoming the first runner to compete in ultra-marathon in all seven continents.
