According to Pu'er Daily, the news conference under the title of "Charming Colorful Yunnan, Special Yun Series" was held in Kunming City on the morning of April 13, 2015. The news conference, held by the External Publicity Office of the Provincial Party Committee of Yunnan Province, was specially titled "Ecological Yun Animal Husbandry." The mountainous animal husbandry industry of Pu'er attracted the attention of the media because of its inclusion as part of what was disclosed at the conference.

During the conference, unique products from Pu'er like Aini Beef and Zhenyuanpiao Chicken (or the Tailless Chicken in Zhenyuan) were put on display in the exhibition zone, attracting a lot of journalists to taste and conduct interviews with their producers.

According to sources, Pu'er has made a lot of effort in recent years to protect its local unique livestock and poultry resources, keeping on increasing the frequency with which its unique livestock and poultry varieties are bred from fine breeding stock. As a result, the brand influence of the local industry has been constantly extending.

In fact, seven local livestock and poultry varieties have been listed in the national list of livestock and poultry genetic resources. Specifically, Zhenyuanpiao Chicken and Wuliang Mountain Black-Boned Chicken have passed the national appraisal and were included in the book Animal Genetic Resources in China in 2010, and were rated as two of Yunnan Province's "Six Best Chickens."

When it comes to quality and safety, Pu'er has spared no effort to perfect its product quality inspection as well as its regulatory system and to crack down with an iron fist on all kinds of activities aimed at using harmful substances for illegal gains.

The city has also established a sound production record of the production units for their livestock and poultry products, so that any production process for its livestock or poultry product is well under control, sales channel can be searchable, and the quality of the product is traceable.

As part of the next step in the city's development of the industry, Pu'er will increase its capital input and strengthen its cooperation with financial institutions, with a view to solving the problem of lack of funds, Deputy Mayor Yang Weidong of Pu'er City said.

The city will spare no effort to provide the industry with proper insurance coverage, enlargement turns to support the leading enterprises and organizations engaged in cooperative breed aquatics, make every effort to develop under-forest economy, particularly breeding and raising under forest, strengthen its effort to ensure food safety, and keep on improving the quality of the products, with a view to increasing the income of farmers, he said.
