GUIYANG, April 10 -- A man suspected of an arson attack that left six dead on a bus last year stood trial on Thursday in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
According to proceedings at the Intermediate People's Court of Guiyang, Guizhou's capital, Su Dahua was angry about a family dispute when he allegedly set fire inside a crowded bus on Feb. 27, 2014.
Carrying a white plastic barrel with gasoline and a lighter, Su was suspected of starting the fire while the bus was passing a primary school on the north side of Guiyang City.
The fire spread so quickly that many people could not find the emergency hammers to smash the windows and escape. A four-month-old boy was among the six dead and 35 others were injured.
Su admitted to the crime at the trial, the court told Xinhua on Friday.
The verdict will be announced in the coming days.
