BEIJING, Mar.23(People’s Daily Online)-Nepali Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pande expressed his hope that the friendship between Nepal and China will last forever in a speech he delivered in a talk program on the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relation between Nepal and China at the Embassy of Nepal on March 18, 2014.
Pande said that the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be helpful for enhancing bilateral ties in the days to come.
He also mentioned the importance of the bilateral cooperation for the reinforcement of the bilateral relations. Nepali government has paid great attention to its relations with China and firmly adheres to the one-China policy. In addition, Nepal has become a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and took part in the Silk Road Economic Belt project.
Chinese Foreign Minister released the news that China decided to increase its aid to Nepal to 800 million yuan from 150 million yuan during his official visit to Nepal from Dec. 25 to 27, 2014. The two sides officially inked the grant deal in Kathmandu on March 21, 2014.
Cooperation between private groups in the two countries is thriving besides the governmental cooperation. Two private companies from China and Nepal signed a 300 million U.S. dollars agreement for joint cement production in Nepal on March 21, 2014. Nepali Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat made the remark that the signing of this project will promote the economic ties of the two neighbors.
