WARSAW, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai Cultural Troupe put on their first performance on Monday evening in the National Theater in Warsaw to nearly two thousand spectators.
This year's event, Welcoming the Chinese New Year in Poland 2015, is the fifth series of activities in Poland, aimed at introducing the Chinese traditions and culture to the local citizens.
Before the opening of the performance, the Chinese Ambassador to Poland, Xu Jian, made a speech, giving his best New Year wishes to all of the Chinese people living in Poland, the Chinese organizations as well as the people of Poland.
Also the Director General of the Polish Ministry of Culture, Jacek Olbrycht, underlined that the bilateral cooperation between Poland and China has made a great progress, and that there are even brighter prospects for the future.
The performance of the Shanghai artists, full of rich Chinese culture flavor, consists of solo performances, acrobatics, traditional dances and songs. All of them received a thunderous applause.
This event was jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Embassy in Poland, co-hosted by Chinese-Polish Economical and Cultural Association and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film &TV.

After Warsaw, the event will also be held in the cities of Krakow and Opole until February 11th.
