BEIJING, Jan. 9 -- China's temperature averaged to 10.1 degrees Celsius in 2014, the China Meteorological Administration said on Friday.
Year 2014, along with 1999, is the sixth hottest year on China's meteorological records which began in 1961.
Only February, August and December posted temperatures lower than average.
In 2014, north China was 1 degree Celsius higher than the average and northwest China was 0.5 degree Celsius higher.
China saw less extreme climate events in 2014 than 2013, but rainfall was only 5.9 trillion cubic meters last year, 58.9 billion cubic meters less than average.
