YANGON, Sept. 12 -- Myanmar President U Thein Sein met with Wang Jiarui, visiting Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Head of International Relations Department of the Communist Party of China, in Nay Pyi Taw Friday.
Wang said China has as always firmly abide by a friendly policy towards Myanmar, expressing China's wishes to further deepen intercourse and cooperation with Myanmar in respective sectors.
He hoped the two sides would solve matters properly arising out of the cooperation and enable the outcome of the cooperation benefit more and better for the people of both countries.
The Chinese Communist Party would like to extend exchanges with Myanmar political parties including the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and enhance friendship and mutual trust to lay the foundation for the development of bilateral relations.
U Thein Sein stressed that no matter how the domestic and international situation change, Myanmar would firmly develop its friendly ties with China, adding that the USDP also wishes to deepen the relations with the Chinese Communist Party and extend exchange under the new situation.
During his visit in Myanmar, Wang also met with U Shwe Mann, speaker of the Union Parliament and the House of Representatives and chairman of USDP.
Besides meeting with Myanmar's military officials and key leaders of the National League for Democracy (NLD), Wang also attended a reception for Myanmar political parties and friends in the society.
