PYONGYANG, Aug. 28 -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has overseen a parachuting and striking drill of paratrooper units of the Korean People's Army (KPA), the official KCNA news agency reported Thursday.
Kim underscored the importance of actual military drills, saying "an army good at fighting would be unimaginable without drills." He warned of irrevocable consequences should service personnel neglect training "even a moment."
"The KPA should make it part of their life and habit to do exercise," he added.
In the drill, the paratroopers accurately landed on the designated area and carried out the order given by Kim, the KCNA said.
Kim was satisfied with the drill, saying the paratroopers were brave and successfully applied the Juche war method in the drill, the KCNA added.
He also proposed a new training method which would serve as guidelines for service personnel to better perform their duties, expecting them to step up battle preparations and combat capability, said the KCNA.
