More world leaders sent condolence messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on Monday and Tuesday, over the deadly tremor that jolted China's southwestern province of Yunnan on Sunday and killed at least 410 people.

In their messages, Lao President Choummaly Sayasone and Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong believed that people in the earthquake-hit areas are surely able to return to their normal lives soon, under the staunch leadership and care of the Party, the Central Government and local governments of China.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung believed that people in the quake-hit areas are surely able to overcome the difficulties soon and return to normal production and life, under the Party and Government of China.

In his message, Myanmar President U Thein Sein expressed the deepest condolences and sympathy and believed that people in the quake-hit areas will return to their normal lives soon.

Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in their messages extended sincere and heartfelt condolences to all those who have suffered loss and bereavement in the earthquake.

Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong wrote to Chinese leaders on Monday to convey their condolences over the earthquake that killed hundreds of people on Sunday.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, in a message of condolence, expressed deep sorrow and solace for families of those who were killed or injured in the earthquake.

"On behalf of the government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, and indeed on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest condolences and sympathy to you and through you to the government and the people of the People's Republic of China and particularly to the bereaved families," Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete said in a condolence message to President Xi.

In their messages, German President Joachim Gauck and Chancellor Angela Merkel said the German government is ready to extend support to help China cope with the aftermath of the quake.

Belarusian Alexander Lukashenko said in his message that he hoped that the Chinese people could overcome all difficulties and transform sorrow into power.

In a message sent to President Xi, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed his deepest condolences to the people of China over the loss of lives and destruction caused by the disaster, wishing speedy recovery to all the injured.

Dozens of other heads of state or government, countries and international organizations also sent condolences to China over the quake.
