BEIJING, June 30 -- People's Daily, the flagship newspaper of the Communist Party of China (CPC), will carry a commentary Tuesday on the CPC's fierce anti-corruption move on Monday.

Anybody, no matter how high his rank is, will be seriously punished if he violates the Party discipline or the law, the article says. There is no mercy in fight against corruption.

The CPC on Monday expelled four heavyweight officials, including Xu Caihou, former vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission.

Xu was cited for bribery and may face prosecution as his case has been forwarded to prosecutors.

No hidden places for corruptive forces are allowed within the party, or within the military, according to the article.

The CPC has proved with concrete actions that its resolve to combat corruption will not stop at shouting slogans, the article notes.

During the 93 years of history, the CPC has always won the people's support as it insists on governing the party in a stern manner and unswervingly safeguarding its purity, it says.

The article also warns that the corruption within the party has become one of the biggest threats against it.

If only the high pressure against corruption could be exerted in a long-term and regular way, we will continuously accomplish great, historical undertakings in the process of self-purification and self-improvement, the article says.
