COPENHAGEN, June 11 -- China's development offers vast opportunities to Danish companies and the cooperation between the two countries has huge potential, a top Danish legislator said Wednesday.
"I have been to China for 15 times since 1978 and witnessed the tremendous changes in China, which are marvelous," Parliament Speaker Mogens Lykketoft said at a meeting with Liu Yunshan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Hailing Lykketoft as an old friend of the Chinese people, Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China appreciates Lykketoft's contribution to the development of China-Denmark ties.
"Our bilateral relations have been developing steadily," Liu said. "China attaches great importance to its relations with Denmark, and would like to work with the Danish side to achieve further development of our bilateral ties on the basis of mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results."
Lykketoft said he will continue to support the exchanges and cooperation between the parliaments and political parties of the two countries, and help deepen the understanding of each other.
Liu in on a four-nation Europe tour, which will later take him to Finland, Ireland and Portugal.
