WUHAN, June 3 -- Police in central China's Wuhan City on Tuesday destroyed 628 kg of drugs which had been confiscated in recent years.
Fifty-two boxes of drugs were incinerated in a steel furnace of Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp.
The waste was processed before being released into the air, according to an official with the city's Public Security Bureau.
While the most commonly confiscated drug in China has long been heroin, more than 56 percent of this batch were amphetamines including metamphetamine, added the official.
