SINGAPORE, Oct. 27 -- Singapore Education Minister Heng Swee Keat and Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck will lead a 74-member delegation to Changzhou, China's Jiangsu province to explore cooperation and business opportunities, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, also the organizer of the visit, said in a press release on Monday.
IE said the business delegation comprises 27 companies from the
finance, education, logistics, environmental and infrastructure solutions sectors. Half of the companies are SMEs. The will have a two-day visit from Tuesday to Wednesday.
During the mission, business delegates will visit the Changzhou Science and Education Town and hear from government leaders on business opportunities in high-technology collaboration.
Singapore was Jiangsu's third-largest foreign investor and ninth largest trading partner in 2013, with actual investments into Jiangsu increasing by 15.5 percent to reach 2.39 billion U.S. dollars. Bilateral trade also rose by 6.3 percent to reach 13.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2013.
