China's largest train maker CSR singed a contact with Macedonia on Tuesday to sell six bullet trains to the European country, which marks the first time that made-in-China bullet trains have entered the European market, People's Daily reported on Wednesday.
The trains will be made in accordance with national standards of Macedonia and international standards, with a designed maximum speed of 140 km per hour and a life of 30 years, according to Xie Hongbing, an engineer of CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co Ltd.
Before this, only locomotives and light rail vehicles have been exported to Europe and this is the first time that whole trains have entered European market, indicating that China's most advanced trains have won the recognition in Europe.
