DUSHANBE, April 18 -- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Friday pledged to enhance security cooperation with China.
Tajikistan will work with China in the fight against the three evil forces of separatism, extremism and terrorism, he told visiting Chinese State Councilor Guo Shengkun.
The two countries will also work together to fight cross-border organized crime such as drug-trafficking, and to protect online information, said Rahmon.
Guo, who is concurrently China's public security minister, said law enforcement and security departments of the two countries have signed a series of cooperative agreements and obtained tangible results in the fight against the three evil forces and international organized crime.
Cooperation in law enforcement and security is an important part of the China-Tajikistan strategic partnership, said Guo, who is in Tajikistan for a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
On bilateral relations, Rahmon said Tajikistan values its traditional friendship with China and considers China a reliable good partner, friend and neighbor.
Guo said China and Tajikistan have improved political mutual trust, enhanced cooperation in various fields, boosted coordination within the SCO framework and supported each other on issues of major concerns since they established the strategic partnership one year ago.
China will work with Tajikistan to enhance political mutual trust, further win-win cooperation and advance bilateral strategic partnership to a new stage, Guo said.
