BEIJING, March 4 -- Chinese and French foreign ministers on Tuesday stressed the need to strive for a political solution to the Ukraine crisis and take practical measures to safeguard regional peace and stability.

In a phone conversation, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and both elaborated on their respective position on the issue. They also agreed to keep communicating with each other on the issue.
