PHNOM PENH, Feb. 18 -- Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni said Tuesday that he would travel to Beijing on Wednesday for a routine medical checkup.
"I and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath will fly to Beijing on Feb. 19 for medical checkup and treatment," he said in a royal message to the compatriots.
"During my absence, Chea Sim, President of the Senate, will assume the title of the acting Head of State," the King said.
Sihamoni, 61, usually has his health checked up by Chinese doctors twice a year. His last body checkup was in August.
