BEIJING, Dec. 17 -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Tuesday met with Polish Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz.
Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, reviewed the two countries' robust bilateral cooperation since they forged a strategic partnership in 2011, saying the two peoples have benefited from the collaboration.
Zhang called on the two countries to develop stronger political trust, boost bilateral cooperation, and make the best of opportunities in China's cooperation with central and eastern European countries.
Zhang underscored the NPC's commitment to working more closely with the two chambers of the Polish parliament and sharing experience on economic development, and democratic and legal construction in a bid to boost China-Poland cooperation in trade, the economy and other sectors.
Borusewicz congratulated China on the successful landing of its "Chang'e-3" probe on the lunar surface.
Borusewicz called on the legislative bodies of the two countries to increase exchanges and inject new vitality into bilateral relations.
Later on Tuesday, Borusewicz left Beijing for Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong province, to continue his China tour.
