BEIJING, Oct. 28 -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday met with a German delegation led by Rainer Dold, president of the German-Chinese Friendship Association of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Li commended their engagement in China-Germany friendship during the meeting, saying that the two nations' relations have enjoyed great development over the past 20-plus years and their cooperation in various fields has brought tangible results for both sides.
The progress of bilateral relations would not have been possible without the support of the two peoples and the participation of nongovernmental sectors, Li added.
He expressed the hope that more efforts will be made to further promote people-to-people diplomacy, increasing understanding and mutual trust as well as strengthening friendship and cooperation.
Speaking with the youth representatives in the delegation, Li said young people are the future for China and Germany as well as for bilateral relations and encouraged mutual learning and common progress between the two countries' youth.
Dold said the Friendship Association is willing to make concrete efforts for the two sides' cooperation.
During his visit, the association will sign a long-term agreement with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to provide vocational training and short-term jobs for Chinese nurses, a support for China to foster personnel in the work that serve the seniors.
