Chinese vice premier meets Russian ambassador

BEIJING, Sept. 3 -- Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Tuesday met with Russian ambassador to China Andrei Denisov, welcoming the Russian for his assumption of office in China.

During the meeting, Liu said that China and Russia should further implement the cultural agreements made during the meeting between the two state leaders in March in Moscow, and value the opportunity of this year's 18th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian prime ministers.

She also voiced hope that the two countries can prepare for the China-Russia Year of Youth Exchanges in 2014 and 2015 so as to make progress in cultural exchange and enhance understanding as well as traditional friendship between the two peoples.
