Chinese official to attend China-Russia strategic security consultation

BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- State Councilor Yang Jiechi will visit Russia to attend a new round of strategic security consultation between the two countries later this week, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday.

At the invitation of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Yang will visit Russia from Wednesday to Friday, according to spokesman Hong Lei.

The last round of such consultation was held in Beijing in January.
