HELSINKI, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Finnish President Sauli Niinisto will make an official visit to China soon, the official presidential website of Finland said in a press release on Thursday.

The plan was disclosed as Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission (CMC) on Thursday.

Niinisto will meet Xi during his visit, said the press release.

The visit will begin with Niinisto attending the high-level Boao Forum for Asia on Hainan next month. From Hainan, Niinisto will travel to Beijing to meet with other Chinese political leaders.

The delegation will also include Alexander Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland, and a group of Finnish business leaders, according to the website.
