SOFIA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The first conference aimed at deepening Sino-Bulgarian economic cooperation was held here on Thursday evening.
With the joint efforts of governments and enterprises, the bilateral trade and economic cooperation has made great progress, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Guo Yezhou said at the conference under the theme "Let's look together toward the East."
Bilateral trade between China and Bulgaria grew by 48.4 percent in the first 11 months of 2012, while total Chinese investment in Bulgaria increased by 33.6 percent for the whole 2012 year on year, Guo said.
He called on the two countries to enhance mutual knowledge and understanding, expand areas of cooperation, and create a better investment environment.
A memorandum was also signed during the conference to build a unified information system for all Bulgarian-Chinese organizations and their partners.
Viktor Azmanov, Chairman of Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), said the system would be a unique opportunity for all those working with China to exchange information and views.
