On Tuesday afternoon, Russian ambassador to China Sergey Razov had a press conference at Beijing news center of RIA Novosti, a Russian news agency, introducing the Sino-Russian exchanges in economy, trade, culture and other aspects in 2012, and answered reporters’ questions.
Sergey Razov fully affirmed the tremendous progress made by China and Russia on bilateral cooperation in 2012 and said the progress demonstrates the Sino-Russian all-round strategic partnership corresponded to the fundamental interests of our two countries.
When talking about Sino-Russian economic cooperation, Sergei Razov said the bilateral trade volume maintains a rapid growth. It reached 83 billion dollars last year and is expected to hit 90 billion this year. But he stressed that currently the mutual investment cooperation is not satisfactory. Although the investment amount increases, it is not in line with the actual economic potential and both sides need to further strengthen cooperation in investment.
In the area of energy cooperation, Razov said that Russia would continue to increase the supply of coal and oil to China. Russia would also deepen the cooperation in the construction of nuclear power plants to promote the common development of the two countries.
About Russian Tourism Year held in China this year, Sergei Razov pointed that the event would play a significant role in bilateral exchanges and cooperation. Russia would also provide full support to the Chinese Tourism Year which would be held in Russia in 2013.
