KUNMING, April 19 -- A forest fire that broke out three days ago was put out by 4,700 firefighters and soldiers on Saturday in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said.
The fire ripped through an area covering 3,150 mu ( 210 hectares). No casualties were reported as of 8 a.m. on Saturday, according to sources with Kunming City's forest fire prevention headquarters.
The blaze broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Xishan District in Kunming before it spread to Anning City, the sources said.
Investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
