BEIJING, April 12 -- A cold front will sweep northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the coming three days, bringing rain and snow, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Saturday.
Northern and western parts of Xinjiang will see light to heavy rains, while areas along the Tianshan Mountains will receive light to moderate snows.
Most parts of Xinjiang will experience gusts between 4 and 6 on the Beaufort Scale, and some mountainous areas will see winds of up to level 10.
Temperatures will drop by up to 8 degrees Celsius in the northern part of Xinjiang, the NMC said. It also warned of sandstorms in the South Xinjiang Basin.
From Sunday to Monday, China's southwestern Tibet Autonomous Region will also be hit by snow, according to the NMC.
The center reminded people in the affected regions to take precautions against the temperature drop.
