KUNMING, Jan. 31-- A man shot six people dead and wounded three more as he took revenge against his wife's lovers in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Thursday afternoon, local police said on Friday.
The suspect, Shao Zongqi, 38, is now wanted by the police of Tengchong county.
Shao, who is from the village of Qingkou, is suspected of carrying out the killing with a semi-automatic rifle before escaping in a cross-country vehicle.
When Shao discovered that his wife had been having affairs with two men from the same village--Shao Zongping and Shao Zonghua---he killed Zongping, Zongping's wife, their two sons, Zonghua's father and Zonghua's wife.
Zonghua, his son and daughter and injured. They were hospitalized in a stable condition.
The police have offered a 200,000 yuan reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
Police are carrying out an investigation into illegal possession of firearms across the province.
