Local police on Tuesday confirmed their arrest of a man who allegedly stabbed three members of a family to death in revenge over a dispute in south China.

The suspect surnamed Chen is alleged to have fatally stabbed a villager, also surnamed Chen, beside a road in Guang'en Village in the Yuzhou District of Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Monday afternoon.

He is then alleged to have rode his motorcycle to the small shop owned by Chen's parents, where he killed the couple with the knife. He poured gasoline into the house and set it ablaze.

Chen was captured by villagers when he attempted to flee from the scene and transferred to police.

He told police he had argued with his victims over building roads and renting fishing ponds. He killed them in revenge.

The case is still being investigated.
