BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Relief material have been rushed to central China's Hubei Province, hit by rainstorms since Friday, said the Ministry of Civil Affairs here Sunday.
The ministry sent an expert team to supervise the rescue and relief work in Hubei, said a statement from the ministry.
In addition, the provincial government has distributed about 3,000 quilts and blankets, 1,800 T-shirts and 50 folding beds to the worst-hit areas.
As of 4 p.m. Sunday, heavy rainfalls have affected more than 1.87 million people in Hubei and caused two deaths, with 114,000 people evacuated, the ministry statement said.
Also, about 2,100 houses collapsed and 5,000 houses were damaged, the statement said.
